Since the building was converted into a Care Home in 1985 the owners have continually sought to improve the facilities available for the residents.
The home is registered for up to 30 people of whom the majority are over retirement
age.
The registration allows for up to four people with a physical disability
(two of whom can be 55 years or older) and for up to ten people with a dementia type
illness (two of whom can be 55 years or older). Ladies or Gentlemen are welcomed
as residents for long or short stays at the home.
Care staff are on duty 24 hours a day to give whatever assistance residents
may require. On going training schemes are in progress including NVQ (National
Vocational Qualification), First Aid, Food Hygiene, Fire Awareness as well as
many other courses as appropriate.
During 2001 the Home achieved the national award, Investors in People and in 2004 successfully retained the award.
The requirements of Fire Prevention and Environmental Health are fully complied
with.
The Commission for Social Care Inspection are obliged by law to inspect registered
care homes at least twice a year. A copy of their most recent report is available
should it be required. A summary is sent out with every brochure request.
